We just got back from a great trip to Bear Lake. Mina and I got to stay up there with Ryan's family for 13 days. Ryan was only able to come on the weekends, since he had work and school. Here are some pics of our fun times. The picture above is Mina in her crib the first morning.
Mina loved the Gator. The Gator is the vehicle we use to get chairs and stuff, and persons down to the beach. She even got to drive it a couple of times!
Lot's of beach time, or at least as much as we could. This little one, as you can see, doesn't have much fat on her. She gets cold pretty quickly, especially when there is wind, which there always is at Bear Lake.
Crawling through a tunnel fort! Yes, we put curlers in her hair. No, I don't have an after picture. She got sick of them before her hair dried, and the curls didn't take.
We went on a couple of little trips on the boat. I think Mina liked it, she didn't like the life jacket much though. This was before we put it on. Mina's closest cousin is Ella, who is sitting next to her. They didn't show much interest in each other, too young I think. Mina actually fell asleep in my arms while the boat was moving. She NEVER falls asleep in my arms, it almost scared me. I guess the smell of fresh lake air, and the bumps in the boat just loll her to sleep.
More playing with cousins. Mina was a little obsessed with putting this necklace on her little twin cousins. I think the Mina (in the white) and Lilly (in the green) are going to be two little trouble makers together when they get older. They both have very strong, stubborn personalities.
Mina really liked digging in the sand! We discovered that the full body rash guard is the way to go. Less time rubbing sunscreen onto a wiggly toddler, less sand in the diaper, warmer, and more fun on the beach!
Stomping through the water. Mina loved it! She also liked to be swung back and forth through the water, and sit in a chair in the water with the waves crashing onto her.
Mina loves her Opa. This trip gave her more time with Opa then perhaps was healthy. She became a little bit obsessed. Everything had to be done with Opa, she had to eat by him, play on the beach by him, and be held by him in the house. Every morning she would wake up and start asking for him (which she did today here at home as well). Big Huge thanks to Oma and Opa for keeping her so entertained and helping me out with her though, the trip would really not have been possible without them. It's hard to keep track of a little one in a huge house!
And then of course cousin Henry! Henry and Mina had a lot of fun together. Mina really liked playing with him, although he didn't fully understand why she didn't do what he told her to do. They were really cute together, and I think as Mina gets older they will get along even better.
It was a lot of fun being able to spend so much time with Ryan's family. I was glad for the opportunity and look forward to being able to do it again.
